City of Kodiak & Road System

A busy fishing port with about 100 miles of roads to explore.

The City of Kodiak sits on the island's northeast corner, home to a major commercial fishing fleet, a Coast Guard base and Alutiiq heritage sites. Around 100 miles of roads reach out to Chiniak, Pasagshak and Anton Larsen Bay.

From the road system you can fish salmon in the Buskin, Olds and Pasagshak rivers, hike Pyramid and Barometer mountains, explore WWII bunkers at Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park and launch kayaks into protected bays.
